First Morning in Cochin, Kerala

Hello my friends, families, lovers..

I was irresponsible enough to not wear bug spray this morning before i went up to the upper deck for my lovely indian breakfast.. I chose to sit outside to observe the scenery, not thinking how attractive my legs were to the buggies in the area.. I dont have too much to write about, since i arrived here at 11 pm last night.. and its 8 am here.. i really havent experienced much.

It was about a day and a half journey, layover, waiting, plane ride.. my personal hired driver was there, tall, bright smile outside with a sign he held “Ms. Jackie Ueng”. I had a good feeling about him and liked him off the bat. Even in a country so far away, first impressions say a lot. id say its 85 degrees humility… I like the taxi guy.. he will be my personal driver for today and maybe tomorow.. it was about a 45 min drive to my hotel Presidency Inn.. a 3-4 star rated hotel.. i think its quite fancy.. costing me about 60$ which is pretty much living like royalty over here.. (IM DYING FROM THE ITCH). So far, what ive seen looks like Mexico.. that drive from the border to Rosarito.. except a lot cleaner, roads more paved and wider.. This is not the india I wish to see.. i want to see villages! Today I hope will be hanging out with a friend of a friends wife, Sheba, as she is a local here and is waiting to move to US with her husband Benny (who has so nicely arranged this first night hotel, accomodation and taxi ride.. thank you!!) Maybe we’ll do a village tour on boat.. or get a ayurveda massage.. or shop.. i think i’ll stay one more night in Fort Cochin.. and then take a bus to Munnar which is hill station ish.. more green..

i suppose its selfish of me to be dissapointed that this area is a lot more city than i expected.. it must mean that they are making more money and living more comfortabley.. haha

well im going to invade my whole body and life with bug spray and take a walk in the neighborhood (costa rica/mexico-ish) and make some calls to arrange my next few days..

Oh by the way.. THE BREAKFAST WAS AMAZING.. I DONT KNOW THE NAMES YET.. BUT MARISSA U WOULDA LOVED IT WITH ME.. THIS CARROT BROTH SLIGHTLY SPICY SOUP… THESE SMALLER MORE PLUMP TORTILLA BREADS WITH POTATOISH CURRY (MY INDIAN FRIENDS ARE PROBABLY LAUGHING AT ME.. SOME CHUTNEY.. I DONT KNOW ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT HERE ANYMORE. AS IM LOVING THE FOOD.) And the poeple here are very very very polite.. Well so far..
