One of Marina Del Rey’s most popular restaurants, Killer Shrimp, serves a Spicy Seafood Broth and Cucumber Lime Mint Gin Martini that is simply perfecto after a Paddle-board Session! Recently, I’ve found myself spending more time in this cozy, friendly area which contains chiller vibes and less of a crowd (than neighboring Santa Monica). The historic neighborhood hosts a variety of restaurants that I love spending sunsets at after a day at the beach.

The concept of Killer Shrimp is a 30-year-old secret family recipe created by famed musician Lee Michaels. Lee and his eldest son Kevin Michaels decided to open a small restaurant only serving the Killer Shrimp ‘Original’ dish. The large bowl of shrimp simmering in a secret spicy broth served with fresh French bread was such a hit that Lee and Kevin decided to expand the brand and menu. Killer Shrimp offers customers healthy, mouth-watering fresh seafood, steak, salad and soup. All of which are prepared with a creative, irresistible combination of flavor and spices.

Killer Shrimp hosts 240 seats with intimate booths and family-style tables overlooking jaw-dropping waterfront views. The restaurant is the only “dock and dine“ destination in the city which boaters love (300 feet of public boat docking). Request to sit at the Harbor Patio upon reservation which features outdoor seating with glass enclosures, cozy heaters and date-worthy ambiance.

I love the daytime vibe as it’s upbeat and sparkling with cool ocean breezes. Dining after dusk transcends vibes into an aphrodisiac mix of sultry rock, jazz/R&B, and low-lit bliss. The wait-staff is friendly, knowledgable and their edgy style remind guests that the experience ROCKS OUT!

Killer Shrimp Bar has 7 massive flat-screens which give every sport-loving guests front-row love with an incredible waterfront view (best of both worlds!). From supercalls to specialty smashes, the famed drink mixologist Marcos Tello tantalizes thirsty taste buds for $10 or less with custom creations using fresh juices, homemade syrups and crushed herbs served over ice pearls. The Bar Menu covers everything from 12-tap beers on draft, domestic and imported bottled beers, and fine wine by the bottle or glass.
